If you are not familiar with Bloodborne, it is a video game created exclusively for the PS4 designed by Hidetaka Miyazaki through Sony World Studios.  The story involves a character known as The Hunter, who roams through a gothic city of Yharnam, where inhabitants have been infected by a blood-borne disease.   It was met with critical acclaim, and players will be glad to know that that some Downloadable Content (DLC) is on the way with "The Old Hunters".  This is what we know so far about Bloodborne's "The Old Hunters" DLC, including the Release Date and News.

An announcement made at the Tokyo Game Show says that there will be a new expansion to Bloodborne with a DLC known as "The Old Hunters", including more details and an actual finalized release date.  According to Geek Snack, it has been revealed that this Bloodborne DLC expansion is "a quite sizable effort", as stated by Sony World Studios President Shuhei Yoshida.  He did not add much more to that statement, but there are more details revealed at Gematsu

"The Old Hunters" is set in a nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever.  This will allow players to explore brand new stages of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts.  This will also give them access to new outfits and weapons to add to the player's arsenal as well as additional magic to wield and more variety to add to the combat strategy.  Players will also get more of the Bloodborne backstory as they will learn of the hunters of the land of Yharnam, as well as meet some new NPCs (Non-Player Characters) as well.

Miyazaki really wanted to create something different when he created Bloodborne.  This action role-playing game's gothic influence comes from H.P. Lovecraft as well as Dracula novels, and the game has already had a few updates, but this was just meant to clear up the bugs and give some bonuses to the players.  "The Old Hunters" DLC would be an actual new storyline for a world that is rich with horror and fantasy elements.

The gameplay for Bloodborne is similar to Miyazaki's other best selling games like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.  What is interesting is how the player creates his or her own character with The Hunter, and they can pick the gender and other features.  One of these features is the "Origin" which not only gives the player certain attributes, but a backstory.  It is possible that "The Old Hunters" will explain this backstory.

The Bloodborne expansion of "The Old Hunters" will be available on November 24th, and a retail box with the game and a code for the DLC will be released on December 3rd, according to Wired.  These dates are for Japan only, but hopefully players who want their Bloodborne action in the United States will be able to get it around this time.
