The Sacramento Kings have been constantly considered as NBA title contenders during the start of a basketball season. However, the NBA team appear to lose momentum by the middle of the matches in the Western Conference and just slide down the bottom. In the previous NBA season, the Sacramento Kings had a quite an impressive showing - a feat that even had some fans and followers of the team speculating on its potential to actually take home the championship trophy.

Along the way though, the Sacramento Kings players experienced a shift that caused them to lose sight of the goal and embarked instead on a downward spiral. With DeMarcus Cousins as the only leader holding the NBA team together, many sports analysts believe that the entry of Rajon Rondo in the Sacramento Kings locker room will mean better performance from the squad this season.

"Just in this short time I've gained a lot of respect for Rajon," commented DeMarcus Cousins on his opinion of the skills and talent of Rajon Rondo, according to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee. He added, "Dude is a flat-out genius when it comes to basketball. His whole knowledge of the game is just incredible. He's definitely considered a coach on the floor. I'm excited to play with him." The same sentiment was echoed by the new head coach of the Sacramento Kings, George Karl. Describing Rajon Rondo as one of the most intellectual players in the NBA, the Sacramento Kings coach likened the former Dallas Mavericks point guard to Gary Payton. George Karl shared, "He's a winner; he's a competitor. He challenges you. He's one of the most cerebral basketball guys I've ever spent time with in a short period of time that I've had."

Meanwhile, sports analysts also point out the benefits that Rajon Rondo could bring to the Sacramento Kings playing style. Apart from his ability in the hardwood court, the presence of Rajon Rondo in the Sacramento Kings locker room could prove to be highly beneficial in reinforcing the strength and persistence asked for by DeMarcus Cousins during NBA matches.

"Obviously Darren (Collison) was having a great season and it'll be a battle every day, but Rondo brings that leadership and they won't get in each other's way at all," shared Rudy Gay, referring to the changes brought about by the entry of yet another point guard in the Sacramento Kings, Rajon Rondo. Rudy Gay went on to say, "I think they do two different things and they'll complement each other well." It is worth noting that Darren Collison went through surgery in March. As to whether or not his health will be an issue this NBA season, the Sacramento Kings will no longer need to fret as Rajon Rondo appears to be more than ready to take over.
