Mortal Kombat X DLC Update Kombat Pack 2 Release Date: Who Are the Four Fighters In Shadow?

Mortal Kombat X really brought back the fighting game genre back to the console again, and this year there has been a lot of downloadable content (DLC) packs to keep its fans happy.  Of course, the fans aren't satisfied and want more combatants, and a recent picture has surfaced on the Internet that went viral, teasing at least four new player fighters.    This could be a possible Mortal Kombat X DLC Kombat Pack 2, and there is little we know concerning these unknown characters.

Ever since Ed Boon, head of Nether Realm studio and Mortal Kombat showrunner, teased fans with a shadowed picture of four new characters with a caption of "Who's Next", there has been a huge rumor of a new Kombat Pack 2.  None of this possible Kombat Pack 2 has been made official with any announcement from the company, but with last year's Kombat Pack introducing players of Mortal Kombat X to all kinds of new characters, skins, and other bonuses, it promises to be something special.

It's pretty clear that Ed Boon really wanted this tease by putting this character in shadow, getting people all over the world and Internet talking.  So, who will it be?  Yibada reports that many are saying that one of the characters is Baraka.  Baraka is a non-playable character in story mode, and it is believed that he will have some interesting moves and animations.  Most seem pretty sure that Baraka is one of them, so if you would have to bet on one fighter, then bet on Baraka.

Many have guessed the Joker as one of these characters.  This would be an interesting twist, as Mortal Kombat X has included characters from franchises other than Mortal Kombat fighting rosters before.  The additions of Predator and Jason Vorhees this year are proof of that.

Considering that Nether Realm teamed with Warner Brothers studios to make this best-selling game of 2015, it stands to reason that Warner Brothers would offer Mortal Kombat X a chance to use characters from DC Comics, which Warner owns.  This doesn't appear to be the case, as Ed Boon has been quoted as saying:  "I'd be hard-pressed to have a DC character as a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat X. The main reason is, I have no desire to cut Batman's head off. I have no desire to kill Superman." This is according to Ecumenical News, but it should be noted that Ed Boon did not say anything about killing DC villains or darker characters in the DC Universe.  So perhaps Joker and other darker DC characters like Solomon Grundy or Lobo would be fair game in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 2 DLC.

There have been a lot of educated guesses about who the other characters in shadow are, and they usually range from Smoke, Cyrax, or Sektor.  Those would be safe bets, but this is assuming that Ed Boon wants characters who have been introduced in Mortal Kombat games of the past.  As of right now, anything goes.  Ed Boon even has teased in tweets that a Jurassic Park character could be included in the mix.  If so, then it would have to be a human character from Universal's franchise, as none of those characters looks like a dinosaur.
