NFL News: Pittsburgh Steelers Lose Ben Roethlisberger, Michael Vick; Landry Jones Set to Face Kansas City Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been trying their best to survive the NFL regular season without their fearless leader Ben Roethlisberger. With the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback's injury and health status still unknown, the NFL team turned to second in command Michael Vick. As Week 7 of the NFL regular season approaches, however, it looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers will have to turn to the third quarterback Landry Jones as both Michael Vick and Ben Roethlisberger are suffering from injuries.

"That's kind of the coaches job," responded Ben Roethlisberger during an interview with 93.7 The Fan, referring to the question on whether he believes it is in the best interest of the Pittsburgh Steelers to field Landry Jones instead of him in Week 7 of the NFL regular season, according to CBS Pittsburgh.

Big Ben further noted, "A lot of it determines too how I feel early in practice. I would assume that Landry and I will kind of split the first reps with the first period and if it feels good in the first period, we'll probably continue that way." While the Pittsburgh Steelers first quarterback aims to work out with Landry Jones, Ben Roethlisberger noted that he is open to the possibility that he will not be able to perform satisfactorily and might have to sit out Week 7.

The Pittsburgh Steelers star went on to say during the said interview, "If for some reason it doesn't feel quite right or if I don't feel 100 percent about it, then I don't want to just be out there taking reps away from Landry just because." Ben Roethlisberger added, "He's going to need to get all the reps he can. So it's going to be a feeling out process but I'll leave that up to the coaches to decide kind of how they're going to split reps up."

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed via ESPN that the NFL team will "build a comprehensive plan around Landry" in the Week 7 NFL match since he is the healthy quarterback at the moment. Tomlin further admitted that the Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to find a backup for Landry Jones.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be visiting the Kansas City Chiefs at the Arrowhead Stadium for Week 7 of the regular NFL season. Scheduled at 1:00 pm ET on October 25 (Sunday), the Pittsburgh Steelers will come in the football match with a 4 - 2 record following a recent victory over the Arizona Cardinals with 25 - 13.
