NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos Favors Brock Osweiler Over Peyton Manning? San Francisco 49ers Eye QB After Colin Kaepernick trade

The Denver Broncos are included in the playoffs. Instead of enjoying the victory, however, the NFL team is reportedly in turmoil. With the return of Peyton Manning, the football squad will have to decide on whether Brock Osweiler should be back in the bench. During the absence of the MVP, the younger quarterback took over the team. Under Osweiler's leadership, the Denver Broncos snagged a phenomenal win against the New England Patriots. Apart from the victory, the group also effectively ended the winning streak of the Tom Brady squad.

The quarterback conundrum does not end there. Manning, who had been repeatedly called out to hang his jersey, is currently involved in an issue that might besmirch his name in the NFL. According to an Al Jazeera report, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback is a regular user of human growth hormone (HGH). Since the release of the report though, Manning has vehemently slammed the accusations. Both the Denver Broncos and the Andrew Luck squad also expressed their utmost confidence on the NFL star.

However, it looks like the Denver Broncos might be leaning more on starting and sticking with Osweiler. Earlier reports indicated that the once backup quarterback also gained the respect of the locker room. Moreover, head coach Gary Kubiak remains mum on the situation. In the recent game of the Denver Broncos against the San Diego Chargers, both Manning and Osweiler shared the spotlight. This further fueled speculations of a pending departure by the NFL MVP.

"You never quite know what to expect, it's been a different year, certainly," shared Manning via ESPN. He added, "A different week, a different approach, you try to get ready to play."

While it would make sense now to hang up his jersey, especially with his current achievement, Manning is reportedly trying to get healthy in 2015 and play in 2016, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, "even if it means he won't be playing for the Broncos."

One of the rumored football teams interested in signing Manning is the San Francisco 49ers. Early in the NFL season, the Jarryd Hayne squad went on sans quarterback Colin Kaepernick. With the recent departure of head coach Jim Tomsula, rumors are rife that Kaepernick will soon follow. To add to the conviction of fans on the quarterback's gloomy future with the Carlos Hyde squad, Kaepernick is scheduled to undergo surgery. This will make him unavailable for the San Francisco 49ers in the next months.

"It's been recommended surgery and get confirmation on whether I'll need surgery or not," said Kaepernick, according to ESPN. He added, "We'll get it fixed as soon as possible. They haven't given me specific dates as far as how long it will be." Kaepernick has a torn ligament in his thumb. Experts have advised him to undergo surgery.
