Kit Harington cannot let "Games of Thrones" fans have false hopes anymore about his character Jon Snow. Harington declared that Snow is dead, and there is no use pining for otherwise.

Speaking with Digital Spy, the actor shared that Snow is very much dead. Fans have been debating on this issue ever since the season 5 finale, and now they finally have the answer from the actor himself. He merely echoed the comments made by other cast members for the past nine months but for the confirmation to come from him is something else. Somewhere out there, fans certainly must be tearing up reading this. "People didn't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it," he explicitly said.

On the same interview, he shared that he is relieved that fans are bothered by the final scenes of the season 5 instead of being indifferent to his fate. Jon Snow was betrayed by the Night Watch and for Harington, it would be wrong for fans of the show to be happy about it. Thankfully, none was, and there was a chorus of "Oh God, no, no," instead of "Thank God."

Snow also said that he has been out of touch with the "Game of Thrones" world lately. While his character is still in Season 6, it will be very minimal. He did not reveal the exact scenes where he has a role in, though.

"I haven't done Thrones in a while. I had quite a lot of time off last year. I've been taking it easy. And relaxing. When I realised I was doing this, I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room," he explained.

Before this confirmation, Maisie Williams, who plays Snow's younger half-sister Arya Stark in the fantasy drama series, already gave a clear hint to the Hollywood Reporter that Snow is indeed dead, even she did exactly said the words. Instead, she just said she cannot say Snow is going to be alive. "It's a great twist, but I can't say that he's going to be alive," Williams revealed.

She also explained how sad everyone around her seems to be about Snow's fate even if they were still unsure if he gets to live. "Everyone felt so sad about it. And I felt so mean, because I'd speak to people, and they'd be like, 'Jon Snow...is he back?' And it's really heartbreaking, because they're like, 'Yeah, but he's coming back though.''
