This year's NFL Draft is about to commence this week and details about the top prospects are already starting to emerge. Of course, these highly sought after athletes will most likely go to the teams with the top spots.
For this year's draft, probably the most valuable prospects are quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. But the Los Angeles Rams, which is No. 1 at the selection order will most likely go with Goff since compared to Wentz, he has a better experience playing in the field, according to ESPN.
So, if Rams sign Goff, that means the next team, the Philadelphia Eagles, will go for Wentz. Through a trade with the Cleveland Browns, the Eagles was able to secure the No. 2 spot primarily to bag any one of the top two quarterback draft prospects for this year.
As for the San Diego Chargers, the team will most likely draft DeForest Buckner, the defensive end from the Oregon Ducks. At 6-foot-7-inches and 290 pounds, Buckner will surely be an asset to the Chargers' defensive line.
For the Dallas Cowboys, prior events might have affected how the team will pick in this year's draft. Because DeMarcus Lawrence is in danger of getting suspended for a couple of games, the team might focus on securing a new defensive end. However, given the team's current roster, they could survive the first few games of the season without another DE. So, if the Cowboys go down this road, they could end up signing cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Another athlete that a lot of teams are targeting this year is Myles Jack, the linebacker from the UCLA Bruins. It is expected that the Jacksonville Jaguars will move in to secure Jack because doing so would then allow the team to reshuffle its present roster. Specifically, with Jack onboard as the new middle linebacker, the Jaguars will be able to move Paul Posluszny to the outside position, where he will most likely be more effective.
These are only some of the top prospects in this year's draft. Also, since these are only speculations, it is not yet clear which athletes these teams will try to sign. This will be finalized once the draft begins from April 28 to 30.
