Marvel is currently preparing all of the characters it will feature in the upcoming film "Avengers: Infinity War." Unfortunately though, this doesn't include television-based superheroes.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of the film, explained that even though these superheroes, such as Daredevil, the Punisher and Jessica Jones, still exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe plane, "Infinity War" already has enough characters.

In other words, the directors are only planning on including superheroes which were and will be introduced in the Marvel films leading up to the third "Avengers" movie.

"The Marvel Universe is sprawling - the Marvel Cinematic Universe is enormous," Joe told Italian website Bad Taste via Cinameblend. "Just think of all the characters that haven't been introduced yet that are going to be introduced by the time that we're working on 'Infinity War.'"

"We have a tough task just telling the stories of the characters who exist [on the big screen] in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let alone adding the entire Marvel Television universe," he added.

Just to give readers an idea of how big "Infinity War" will be, it was previously reported that the Russos intend to feature about 67 characters. Although these characters are from previous, current and future Marvel films, all of them will not have leading roles.

Still, even though many of them will just be standing in the background, tackling 67 characters in one movie is certainly a challenging task for anyone. This is probably why Joe and Anthony decided to just focus on the movie superheroes to make the upcoming film a little bit manageable.

But, Joe noted that this doesn't mean that future movies after "Infinity War" will not feature television superheroes. According to the director, he and his brother are still open to the idea of including them in other projects.

"Anything is possible in the Marvel Universe," Joe said. "It's certainly something we're considering. But our focus is on telling the stories of the characters that currently exist on the movie side."

As for the upcoming film, "Avengers: Infinity War" will be split into two parts. The first half will be released on May 4, 2018 while part two will come out on May 3, 2019.
