Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date, Rumors and New Location; Bethesda Reveals Two More 'Big Games'

After months of speculation, gamers can finally expect the next installment in Elder Scrolls series. During E3 2016, game developer Bethesda announced the Elder Scrolls 6 is now in the works. The developer also revealed it is working on two more "big games" that are comparable to Elder Scrolls regarding scale.

Here's what you need to know about Elder Scrolls release date, new locations, and rumors.

Bethesda Studios Game Director Todd Howard confirmed on YouTube's E3 live stream that the next Elder Scrolls game in now in development. When asked how they are working on it right, he immediately said they have a good idea what the game would look like, and it is going to take some time before they finish it.

Industry experts say players should not expect Elders Scrolls 6 will be released this year. Rumors around the internet claim Bethesda might release it in the first quarter of 2017. Nevertheless, regardless of how long it'll take for developers to finish the game, fans of the series are happy to know that Bethesda confirmed its development.

Aside from new Elder Scrolls game, Bethesda also announced its upcoming titles such as Quake Champions, Prey and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. Also, the developer revealed its plans to make high-budget virtual reality games like Fallout 4 VR and DOOM VR.

With these upcoming titles, some gamers speculate the development of Elder Scrolls 6 will be a slow progress. Bethesda does not have enough programmers and developers to finish Elder Scrolls 6 quickly. In the meantime, fans can wait for the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, which will be released on Oct.28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

IGN reported Skyrim Special Edition will be free for PC users who already own the original game and all its add-ons -- Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn -- on Steam. The promo also applies to gamers who own the Legendary Edition.

Bethesda has not yet announced if Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users will also have the same offer.

The special edition of Skyrim is a remastered version of the 2011 RPG classic game. It features high-resolution graphics, improved animation, and console mod support.
