Microsoft and game developer Capcom teamed up to make the next installment in the Dead Rising franchise. During E3 2016, the two announced the Dead Rising 4 is the development and will be released this holiday season. Here's everything you need to know about Dead Rising 4 release date, gameplay and new features.

According to IGN, the Dead Rising 4 will become available on December 6, 2016, which makes sense considering the Christmas-themed trailer and snowy in-game weather. Take note that the game will become available first to Xbox One and Windows 10 users, and PS4 users will be able to it play a year later.

The event in Dead Rising 4 takes places 16 years after the first game. This time, the outbreak has spread out during Black Friday, an annual shopping extravaganza that kicks off before the Christmas Season. It is also interesting to see the devastating effects of viral-outbreak at the height of shopping spree.

Gamers will play again as Frank West, a freelance photographer and the original game's protagonist. He is now bit older than the previous entry, but he is still capable of killing hordes of zombies.

Speaking of zombies, they are the real star of the game. Capcom said players should expect to face two types of zombies in the game.

First, there's the horde: a slow-moving corpses that can be easily killed. They are the freshly infected victims. However, they still have some sort of cognitive ability. They can climb dumpsters to reach Frank.

Second, EVO are quick and vicious creatures. Capcom Vancouver studio head Joe Nichols said they are like raptors in the Jurassic Park. EVOs work together to herd players. In addition, they are smarter, faster and stronger zombies.

To kill those vicious zombies, there's a bunch of powerful weapons at player's disposal. For example, players can wear an exoskeleton, which is essentially power armor. Even though it has limited battery life, this armor turns players into unstoppable miniaturized version of the Hulk.

Furthermore, Dead Rising 4 introduces multiplayer experience. The missions can be completed by up to four players who own the game over Microsoft's Xbox Live online gaming service. Players can also join a quick match and enter a game in progress, as per reports from VG247.

There's also new camera functionality. To keep up with the latest technology, Frank can now take selfies from his smartphone. Not only have that, he can also make a series of funny faces.
