NFL Rumors: New England Patriots Trading With Carolina Panthers For Cam Newton

As the New England Patriots head for their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills, the team is hoping that their backup quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brisset will be able to lead the team to victory. However, given the current status of the team's QBs, the Patriots could explore a possible trade option with the Carolina Panthers for Cam Newton.

For a while now, the Patriots have been struggling with their quarterbacks. Aside from Tom Brady's suspension, the team also encountered a problem with his backup Garoppolo after he suffered an injury.

This has forced the team to start with Brisset and move wide receiver Julian Edelman as an emergency quarterback.

As the New England franchise head into Week 4, the team is feeling a bit hopeful that Garoppolo will be able to return and win one more game before Brady returns. However, if things don't work well for the Patriots, they could end up exploring a trade option for a new quarterback.

One likely candidate is Newton of the Panthers. Newton is a veteran quarterback who has a lot of experience leading teams under his belt. He will be able to bring this level of professionalism with the Patriots either as their starting quarterback or a backup to Brady.

Of course, given Brady's age, there's a good chance that he might retire soon, which could make Newton as the Patriots' new main passer.

As for Newton, given his recent performance, the Panthers might consider letting him go, in exchange for maybe a few quality trade options.

Recently, Newton and Carolina's winning streak ended at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. By pulling an upset win, the Vikings were able to close the game with a final score of 22-10.

The surprising win Minnesota was attributed to its impressive defensive line, which prevented Newton from successfully completing some of his passes.
If this is the start of the Panthers' losing streak, the team could look to waiving Newton from the roster or entertain trade offers.

For the Patriots to get him, they'll probably need to let go of a couple of their quality players or offer future draft picks to Panthers. By doing so, New England will be able to get a quality player who could possibly serve as a replacement for Brady.
