Google’s foray into the smartphone market began a few years ago with the Nexus brand name entering prominence, and it looks like they have decided to move on with times and settle for the Pixel and Pixel XL as the forerunners of a new generation of Google smartphones. It also feels as though Google has ramped up the advertising dollars in order for the flagship smartphones to gain more traction in the smartphone market, and it has proven somewhat successful, although the figures have been tempered by limited Pixel stock from Google as well as Verizon.

In fact, it is interesting to discover that on October 25, additional pre-ordered devices were shipped and arrived at customers’ doorsteps, where volume hit a growth of 274% for the Pixel, while the larger sized Pixel XL touched the 158% growth mark -- both landmark points indicate a timeline of one week after the official launch.

Verizon Wireless Pre-order and price
Basically, Verizon is offering the Pixel with 32GB of internal storage for $27.08 a month, where it is accompanied by a two year contract. If you feel that 32GB is simply not able to keep up with the amount of media that you would like to tote around or store on your handset, then you can always settle for the 128GB variant which will cost you a wee bit more at $31.24 a month for two years as well. It is a no-brainer which model would sell better, actually. Alternatively, if you prefer to take the unlocked smartphone route without having to remain stuck with Verizon for two years straight, then you can pick up the 32GB model for $649.99, and the 128GB variant for $749.99 a pop.

As for the Pixel XL that will arrive with 32GB of internal storage, that will cost $769.99 a pop with an asking monthly price of $32.08 for a two year contract, while the 128GB variant will cost $36.24 per month across a time span of two years. Again, if you would like to remain untethered to Verizon, then it is available outright for $769.99 where the 32GB Pixel XL is concerned, and $869.99 a pop for the 128GB Pixel XL variant.

But I want my Pixel/Pixel XL via the Google Store!
Variants of the Pixel and Pixel XL are available yet again on the Google Store, where the Pixel with 32GB of internal memory will arrive in silver or black shades, while those who would like the black Pixel XL can pick it up with 32GB of storage space. For those who have been patiently waiting for the smartphones to be back in stock on the Google Store, you know what to do -- the adage of the early bird getting the worm holds true here.

Well, you will be able to enjoy either one handset from the other mobile carriers such as Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile as well. All of them will cost somewhere in a similar region for the unlocked handsets, with the main difference being the respective 2-year contracts.
