Franklin Graham: 'God-Factor' Was Seen in 2016 US Presidential Election

Evangelist Franklin Graham, who headed the 2016 Decision America Tour across the 50 U.S. state capitols, stated on Facebook today that many U.S. citizens didn't understand "the God-factor" in this year's presidential election.

Hundreds of thousands of Christians from across the United States have been praying, he reminds. "This year they came out to every state capitol to pray for this election and for the future of America. Prayer groups were started. Families prayed. Churches prayed. Then Christians went to the polls, and God showed up," he stated.

"While the media scratches their heads and tries to understand how this happened, I believe that God's hand intervened Tuesday night to stop the godless, atheistic progressive agenda from taking control of our country."

Graham, 63, stated that President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence are going to need a lot of help, and they will continue to need a lot of prayer:  "I pray that President-elect Trump will surround himself with godly men and women to help advise and counsel him as he leads the nation."

"My prayer is that God will bless America again!" stated the social conservative who is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief organization.

He said while the Decision America Tour may have come to a close, the mission behind it has never been more important.

Graham challenges Christians to live out their faith in every part of their lives and to pray for our nation. "Just as Nehemiah cried out to God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore hope to His people, Christians must cry out to God on behalf of the country. He is the only hope for America."
