Pokemon Go Gen 2 Update: 100 New Pokemons Coming Your way

Pokemon Go has been consistent when it comes to adding new features into the game. For example, the Buddy System was a new feature that added to the fun that can be derived from the game. But those are just updates with limitations and it didn’t make any major changes.

About the Pokemon Go Gen 2 Update

Fans of Pokemon Go have always hoped that it was going to open to Pokemon from Gold/Silver era. Now, that’s a thing. An update has planted Pokedex data for it. That update is actually for 100 new Gen 2 Pokemon.

Many players have filled their Pokedex and the hundred new Pokemon, including evolutions for existing Pokemon would be unlike any other update that has been released. The Halloween Event was huge enough to attract back some players who have given up on the game. That event made Pokemon popular again and in fact, it became the top-grossing app in the world again. If the Halloween event was enough to do that, just imagine what 100 new Pokemon can do to the game.

Questions about the Update

While the introduction of the new Pokemon is a real welcome development, it has also raised a lot of questions. Gen 2 would mean introducing Pokemon #152 to #251. But that would be a problem since #132, #150, and #151 still has not been introduced yet. It would be a bit strange not to let players collect those Pokemon.

Mew and Mewtwo, known as the Legendary Birds are believed to be the focus of the updates. That would give the fans a chance to collect them. But there is no word yet as to how Niantic would be rolling out with the updates. It would simply be weird to move on to Gen 2 right now with Gen 1 still incomplete.

Many believe that the update would about to come out. Winter is about to start in most parts of the world today and it is expected that the cold weather would cause a major drop in the number of players.

It might be the Niantic’s plan to use the new Pokemon to keep players interested. The update would ensure that players would go out even during the height of winter. It might be a good strategy for the company to follow, but that’s just theory right now because Niantic has not given any official word yet in regards with the updates.
