Instagram"/>Sadie Robertson from TV series ‘Duck Dynasty’ has expressed her displeasure over online bullying, admitting that she and her friends have been targeted by online bullies.
Posting a photo on Instagram, the reality TV star took the opportunity to stand up against the act and wrote the following as caption, addressed to bullies: "How do you look at yourself, how do others look at you, [and] how does God look at you?"
According to Robertson, society has been overwhelmed with confusion as it has forgotten to distinguish between the preconceived image of a person and their actual selves.
Regardless of faster and more convenient connections through social media, individuals have become divided more than ever due to the unkind comments, upsetting jokes and even word wars that erupt on social networking sites.
"We have taken all the human out of the screen. Instead of seeing a heart, all you are seeing is a face. Instead of seeing beauty, all you see are the things that are different in that person," Robertson said, speaking to online bullies. "This creates a separation between us."
The 19-year-old Louisiana native assures victims of bullying that they can find peace and fulfillment in God, not in other people’s opinions.
"If you base your confidence on your outward beauty, you will consistently be let down, because you are basing it on inconsistent things, such as compliments, filters, lighting, angles," she said. "Stop trying to find the lighting and find the beauty in your heart. If you truly want to be as beautiful on the inside as you are on the out, you have to work on the inside just as much as you work on the outside."
According to the young entrepreneur, people should always be careful of their actions and to think about what God wants them to do as He looks down from heaven.
"God looks at your heart. Think about when you are at the top of a building and you look down. You just see humans. No faces, you can't pick out clothes, you can't go in detail about outer appearances, but what you can see is action," she said.
Robertson also shared the passage from 1 Samuel 16:7: "Don't judge by his appearance. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Meanwhile, the current ‘Duck Dynasty’ season has been confirmed to be the show’s last. A few members of the Robertson family together with the A&E network have confirmed last November 16 that this will be the final installment of the reality TV show.
“After 5 years, 130 episodes and one of the biggest hits in the history of cable, the Robertson family and A&E jointly decided that Duck Dynasty, the series, will come to an end after this season,” they said in the video.
Robertson’s parents, Willie and Korie Robertson, made a final decision with the rest of the family that they are putting the axe on their series.
“We’re happy to kind of move on to another chapter, but also, we’re like, ‘Awe, we’re gonna miss this,’ ” Korie shared.
According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘Duck Dynasty’ season 11 will air until Jan. 18, 2017 with a short break before continuing with the last seven episodes, which will run from March 1 to April 12.
