NBA Rumors: Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins Campaign For Joakim Noah Trade; Wolves Get Veteran Mentor

The Minnesota Timberwolves are slowly sliding late this NBA season. Despite the promising stars in the Karl-Anthony Towns roster, the team cannot get past the others in the league. In fact, many are disappointed over their abysmal record that basically only rivals that of the Sacramento Kings that lost their key player in the DeMarcus Cousins trade this season. Should the Andrew Wiggins team sign a veteran to help them out of this slump?

The New York Knicks signed Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls last NBA offseason with the promise of having veterans to guide Kristaps Porzingis and support Carmelo Anthony. However, it looks like this gamble churned out poor results for Phil Jackson as the team continues to trail behind the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat and Boston Celtics in the East. More importantly, the Courtney Lee squad once again failed to make it to the NBA playoffs this season.

Rumors are rife that the New York Knicks plan to unload three huge contracts from the roster coming in the offseason with a Joakim Noah trade first on the list. The other two are speculated to be the release of the Derrick Rose contract and a Carmelo Anthony trade. It remains to be seen, however, if the Kristaps Porzingis team pushes through with any of these NBA rumors pointing to their rebuilding process.

Meanwhile, fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves believe that a Joakim Noah trade might be a good move for the Karl-Anthony Towns team. Many feel that the French man could bolster the Andrew Wiggins squad’s confidence. Despite his rocky performance in the hardwood court, the former Chicago Bulls star has been known to serve as a strong locker room presence and leader especially among younger stars.

At this point though, the New York Knicks star is looking at a 20-game suspension following his violation of substance abuse rules of the NBA. This latest setback is anticipated to further encourage the Carmelo Anthony team to push for a Joakim Noah trade soon.

"We believe that this isolated occurrence was a regrettable mistake. Joakim has offered his deepest apologies for this infraction,” said the National Basketball Players Association of the incident.

What do you think? Should the Minnesota Timberwolves sign for a Joakim Noah trade this offseason? Will the New York Knicks star be a good influence to the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins?
