PS Plus July 2017: Free Games List

Jun 29, 2017 11:37 AM EDT

It is that time of the month again for PlayStation Plus (also known as PS Plus) subscribers who can look forward to a number of free games for them to enjoy. Now that summer is in full swing, and with gamers having to split their time between outdoor BBQs in the backyard with movies and spending some quality time with family and friends, how about getting a spot of gaming on as well? First of all, the free PlayStation Plus games that will be made available to PS Plus subscribers for the month of July 2017 happen to be Until Dawn and Game of Thrones. “Winter is coming” is the main catchphrase for the latter, even in the heat of summer.

Until Dawn
Until Dawn happens to be a PlayStation exclusive survival horror adventure that brings together eight different friends. These friends are in a rather tight spot -- all of them are trapped together on a remote mountain retreat, and the worst part of it all? They are not alone. I am not referring to having wildlife such as deer and cute squirrels keeping them company when dusk falls, but rather, things of the otherworldly nature. You will be able to enjoy gaming as each of the eight characters, and through it all, be able to experience fear unlike ever before. In fact, each decision that you make in Until Dawn could be your last, since it is possible that the line between death and life is so thin, it is all too easy to cross it!

Game of Thrones series
Telltale’s Game of Thrones series will help fans of the TV show enjoy some hands-on gaming action that comprise of all half a dozen episodes. These six episodes will follow the family of House Forrester as they survive the War of the Five Kings -- or will they not be able to make it past?

Until Dawn and Game of Thrones would be available for the current generation PS4, so if you have not quite made the upgrade just yet after all these years and are still rocking to your previous generation Sony PS3, then you would end up with two less games to play for free each month. That is certainly a waste of your PS Plus subscription.

Tokyo Jungle
Tokyo Jungle is a title for the PS3 which will boast of more than 50 playable animals for you to pick from. In this game, you get to unleash your inner beast as you hunt your way to the top of Tokyo's post-apocalyptic food chain. It does not matter whether you are in Story or Survival Mode, you will still need to eat -- and searching for your next meal can be quite the challenge. There will no doubt be different kinds of dangers that you will face, so it is best to be prepared for just about anything and everything. You can choose to take the path of all-out attack to survive, or perhaps take the road of stealth, either way, the game can be completed. Just take note that you are not the king of the hill as there are other animals out there who are also hunting for survival.

Darkstalkers Resurrection
The PS3’s Darkstalkers Resurrection will boast of online play and other new kinds of enhancements that are similar to Iron Galaxy Studios' previous Capcom arcade re-releases, namely Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. It is a test of wits and reflexes, as you attempt to rise from the ashes and beat everyone up who crosses your path with cartoon-like visuals.

PS Vita owners will be able to enjoy Element4l and Don’t Die, Mr. Robot (which is a Cross Buy title on the PS4). In addition to all of the goodies mentioned above, from July 4 all the way through to October 24, all PS Plus members will receive a That’s You in celebration of PlayLink’s launch .
