The 50th General Council of the Assembles of God, dubbed, “Turn America, Pray the Way” is slated for August 3. Inspirational speakers and musicians including two-time Grammy Award winner Michael W. Smith will perform at the Council in Washington D.C.
"I cannot emphasize enough the importance of bathing this General Council in prayer," says A/G General Superintendent Thomas Trask. "If we desire to see God move like never before in our Fellowship, to win this nation--this world--to Christ, we must first begin on our knees."
According to the A/G website, the goal of Pray the Way, is “to have thousands of believers, turning to Christ in prayer.”
“Inspirational speakers, live music, historic sites and history in the making will attract families from across the nation for this momentous occasion. There is no better way for your family to see Washington D.C. than to see it as a part of Turn America, Pray the Way—an opportunity not to be missed. “ the website states.
Confirmed performers include Michael W. Smith and Salvador. Smith received 40 Dove Awards, two Artist of the Year awards and two grammys throughout his 20-year career. Salvador, the Latin Worship Band, was recently nominated for "Best Latin Christian Album of the Year."
