In an effort to better communicate and represent the orthodox bodies in the World Council of Churches, members of the Steering Committee of the Special Commission on Orthodox Participation reviewed plans for a “progressive introduction of a consensus methodology” in the Council’s meetings.

The plans is meant to provoke a “new ethos and culture” with the potential to “strengthen and deepen the fellowship of churches” by overcoming the traditionally divide between the majority and minority votes.

The meeting took place in Minsk, Belarus, on June 16-19.
