On August 9, 2004, the delegates to the septennial General Council of the World Assembly of Reformed Churches elected several members onto its executive board. Of those elected, an American pastor took the spotlight as he had no contenders. Clifton Kirkpatrick, current general secretary of the PCUSA, will serve the WARC board as its president for the next seven years.
