Asbury Seminary Receives $1 Million Matching Gift

An anonymous donor granted $1 million matching gift to Asbury Theological Seminary.

All donations, including gifts and academic programs and services, raised for the Seminary’s unrestricted funds between December 1, 2003 and June 30, 2004 will be matched, dollar for dollar up to $1 million.

“This is a creative and visionary gift from an outstanding supporter of Asbury Seminary,” said Dr. Dunnam, president of Seminary.

According to the Seminary’s officials, this is the largest match gift Asbury Seminary has received in its lifetime.

Paul Baddour, vice president of Seminary advancement, said, “His gift-dollar match will impact nearly all we do as an institution.”

With participation of faculty, administration, staff, students, alumni and current and former board of trustees members of the Seminary, the matching gift will support the Seminary to a great extent financially.
