China Bible Seminary held a thanksgiving Retreat in Hong Kong to celebrate its 75th anniversary, entered a new page of history.
Pastor Qing Jia preached that the strategy of seminary is "Christ at the centre, God the treasure.' during the time of thanksgiving, we must not neglect the guidance of God.
"We titled ‘God is my precious' for teaching, use Psalm chapter 16 to encourage everyone that if we want to be a great servant, we must acknowledge Jesus as Lord sincerely, concentrate on serving God, and enjoy the abundance in God. We absolute believe that God is our teacher and enjoy this blessing to be with God," Pastor Qing said, thanking that God is together with the seminary.
China Bible Seminary in year 2005 will have 65 students graduated. The graduation will be held on June 20 in Hong Kong Kowloon Baptist Church.
The three development ages of China Bible Seminary
Since 1930, China Bible Seminary first started in Shang Hai and have established for 75 years. It has experienced 3 important period of time.
The first stage: 1930-1950 the period to build the foundation of seminary
From 1930 to 50, during the 20 years is to establish and build the foundation of seminary. Seminary at first started accept women and until 1938, it starts to accept men. The seminary has trained a lot of excellent missionary. This is period ended in 1950.
The second period: 1964-2004 the seminary restart at Hong Kong
At the year of 1964, China Bible Seminary restarted. At the beginning stage, it focuses on training full time missionary and has started evening bible class. Since 1978, seminary started to give out bachelor of theology degree.
1990s graduate added courses such as Bible Studies Degree, Bible Studies Associate Degree and Master in Shepherding to expand the training to believers and missionaries.
In March 2004, the seminary held a thanksgiving celebration for 40 years of establishment.
The third stage: September 2004
Praise to the God, the seminary in 2004 September has new beginning that the seminary has used new seminary emblem and put the focus on quality not quantity. In 2005 May 29th, the seminary held a thanksgiving retreat title‘New start, Enter the promise’ wishes that in the future, they can do many great work for God.
