Christian Group in Fiji calls for the Boycott of National Daily

A Christian group in Fiji has called for a month-long boycott of the biggest national daily newspaper, The Fiji Times.

In full page advertisments in rival weekend newspapers, The Assembly of Christian Churches has labelled the Fiji Times as an agent of the devil.

The ACCF is unhappy with the paper's coverage of a faith healer and alleged discrepancies in church accounts.

The advertisements labelled as "Satanic onslaught", a Fiji Times' story which reports on discrepancies in the Methodist Church accounts, including double payments of ministers' salaries.

The ACCF says it is also deeply hurt by the paper for questioning the authenticity of an African-based evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, who claims to be able to perform miracles.
