After nearly two years of complicated legal drama, the hundreds of sexual abuse claims targeting the Roman Catholic Church in California may finally head to court. The Catholic Church announced that the lawsuits – involving over 850 alleged victims – will be lumped together into three consolidated cases known as “Clergy I, Clergy II and Clergy III, and will be settled with the help of over 300 attorneys. The state is expected to bear over $100 million in settling the “lumped” and individual cases.
