Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the family featured in the hit reality television show Duck Dynasty, died on May 25, 2025, at his home in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was 79.
According to a statement shared by the Robertson family, Phil passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. “He fulfilled his purpose on this earth and has now gone to be with his Lord,” the family said, as reported by The Christian Post.
Robertson had been battling health issues in recent years, including a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Despite his declining health, his family noted that he remained rooted in faith until the end.
Born in 1946 in Louisiana, Robertson rose to fame after founding Duck Commander, a duck call and hunting gear company. The business eventually led to the creation of Duck Dynasty, which aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017. The show highlighted the family’s hunting lifestyle and Christian values, attracting millions of viewers across the country.
Beyond television, Robertson became a prominent cultural figure known for his outspoken Christian faith and conservative worldview. He often spoke publicly about the gospel and was actively involved in podcast and online ministries.
“He was a man who lived with conviction, keeping faith and family at the center of his life,” said his grandson Willie Robertson in a family statement.
The family has not yet released details about the funeral but plans to create an online memorial page for fans wishing to offer condolences.
