The First Evangelical Church Association will be holding their joint mission conference 2005 that asks, "What is Our Role?" in spreading the Gospel through China.
At three venues in California, the First Evangelical Church of San Gabriel Valley, Rosemead High School, and the Rosemead Community Center, participants will hear how God is working in China through the local churches by allowing them to have a more "missionary-sending Kingdom focus," on Oct 7-9.
The conference has a "5 fold purpose," to mold, to challenge, to motivate, to create, and to satisfy the mission of God in Mt 28:19-20 that says, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..."
Other passages that they have included into their purpose statement are, Luke 19:10 and 1 Tim 2:4-5.
The conference will help participants understand how they can adopt a missionary focus, that can be effectively used, both in local and global situations, and how they can participate in the movement in China, through obedience and "mission-focused activities."
The list of speakers are, James Hudson Taylor IV, the field director for Overseas Missionary Fellowship Chinese Ministries who has served Hong Kong since 1996, John Lo senior pastor of Epicentre, in Pasadena California, who is a well-known speaker in terms of youth missions and mobilization, Brent Fuller, President of China Source, Robert Herber, pastor at Antioch Community Church in Texas, and Barney Kinard, president of Creative Children's Ministries.
The FECA is an association of churches that spreads the message of the gospel throughout North America and around the world with the mission by placing the "values and truth of the Kingdom of God through biblically-based, balanced, and holistic approach."
