INDIANAPOLIS -- On behalf of the Pastoral Commission for Hispanic Ministries the Central Pastoral Office for Hispanic Ministries gave $500 to Disciples Mission Fund. An additional $500 matching gift was given by an individual. Gifts to Disciples Mission Fund enable the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to reach more than one hundred Hispanic and bilingual congregations in the United States and Canada. Most of these are young congregations established in the past twenty years. The Disciples Mission Fund provides vital support for Hispanic Ministries. More than half of the Central Pastoral Office for Hispanic Ministries' operational budget comes from distributions of the Disciples Mission Fund. "Hispanic Ministries also encourages each Disciple to support the Disciples Mission Fund, believing God is using this fund to reach thousands of Hispanic Americans with the powerful message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ," said the Rev. Pablo Jimenez, National Hispanic Pastor, Central Pastoral Office for Hispanic Ministries.
Also, the staff of the Church Finance Council has made a $500 gift to the Disciples Mission Fund's Easter offering. They are challenging other general unit's to also contribute to this offering, which is designate to support the work of general ministries.
