Atlanta-based Gospel Music Channel has signed a deal with Franklin-based Provident Label Group. Provident is a division of Provident Music Group and operates under the umbrella of RCA Label Group-Nashville, a unit of BMG.

Under the group includes Brentwood, Benson, Essential, and Reunion recording labels. The projects are distributed to Christian music retailers by Provident Distribution and to general market retail through BMG Distribution.

Through the Christian music label, the Gospel Music Channel will provide world premiers of select videos and concerts from the label's catalogue. Provident will also provide access to its entire video catalogue as well as their artists for promotions and programming.

Cable television industry veterans Charles Humbard and Brad Siegel have formed the Gospel Music Channel this year with plans to make it the first television network dedicated to the gospel music genre.

Humbard, being the former senior vice president and general manager of Discovery Networks, will serve as the president and CEO of the broadcasting network. Seigel was the former president of Turner Entertainment Networks and will serve as the vice chairman.

The Atlanta-based channel will have production offices in Nashville which will launch in the fourt quarter of this year.
