The Hong Kong Baptist University Social Work Department, the Hong Kong Christian Organization, and the Hong Kong Christian Evangelical will soon collectively host an event under the title the 2005 Hong Kong Youth Discipleship Work Conference. The conference will be geared towards youth ministry workers, youth fellowship directors, youth workers, teachers, workers, college students, and high school students.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Knowledge, Discipleship, Political Engagement.” The conference will follow a program called the 71 Youth Discipleship dissertation and strategy exploration. The content for the theme’s speech is Youth’s knowledge Discipleship. Theme speech I is Youth’s political participation. “When Youth meets church” – minister, scholar, youth dialogue meeting, research report (Youth’s political life and life policies) presentation, and including twelve different topic group discussions on the following topics: sex, politics, poverty, philosophy, fashion, internet, religion. Hong Kong Chinese University Chongji Campus Seminary vice president professor Ron Li Ren, Asia Christian Committee Chair Hwei Jen Huang, democratic development internet scholar group convener professor Zenmin Chen, Public Educating Alliance convener Professor Liang Enron, Chinese Christian Church Hong Kong regional committee serving staff Pastor Pu Jintson and scholars were invited to be public speaker.
The opening ceremony will be held on the morning of January 10, 9:30A.M. The President of United Christian in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Baptist College Social Work Major Department Chairman, and the Hong Kong Christian Course CEO, Lucy Hu will be serving as guest speakers. During the night of October, there will be a Youth Celebration at the Catholic St. Paul stage with a youth skit performance named “I am this faithful.”
