On the Road Again: Jars of Clay and Caedmon's Call Partner For Spring Tour in 2003

On the heels of a successful fall tour and an American Music Award nomination, Essential/Silvertone band Jars of Clay partners with label mates, the critically acclaimed and Dove Award-winning, Caedmon’s Call, for a college market tour visiting more than 40 cities. Already being referred to by promoters as the "thinking man’s pop tour," the evening will feature the trademark organic Caedmon’s Call sound as well as Jars unique, award-winning musical style.

The spring tour will travel to college markets across the country, launching in Grand Rapids on Feb. 12 and running through mid-April when it wraps in Naples, Fla. (The first segment of dates listed at end of press release. Venues and additional tour dates to be announced soon – visit www.essentialrecords.com for updates.)

"We’ve been looking forward to a tour like this for many seasons. Caedmon’s and Jars will be the perfect combo! I think audiences will have a great chance to get to know both bands more intimately. We look forward to a closer friendship with the good folks of Caedmon’s Call," remarks Jars of Clay’s keyboardist, Charlie Lowell.

"This tour has been a long time coming," says Cliff Young, founding member and lead vocalist for Caedmon’s Call. "We’re all friends and therefore see eye to eye on many aspects of our music and our faith. Also, there are fans of both Jars of Clay and Caedmon’s Call who have never been exposed to the other band’s music. It will be exciting to play for those first-timers as well."

"We’ve been really encouraged by the initial response to this tour," says Third Coast Artists Agency president, Mike Snider. "Combined with the bands’ dual new album releases, there is great enthusiasm about the pairing of Jars and Caedmon’s, especially on college campuses. From universities like Wake Forest to Christian colleges like Liberty and Abilene Christian, this is the tour that their campuses are most eagerly anticipating."
